HISTORY
In early 1871 after an initial meeting and "hearty" meal held at the Barnhill Railway station refreshment rooms, 5 gentlemen agreed to take a lease on a plot of land North of Reres Park to make a Curling pond. Today this land is where the houses are on Bonspiel gardens.
The Earl of Dalhousie who granted the lease became the clubs first president founded it on the 20th February 1871 at another "hearty "meal with refreshments at the Barnhill Railway station where Guthrie street is now.
